Zen mediation weekend in 1st week of Feb - couple of hours each day to do work (2 days); would like a list of jobs to do - be good to come up with a kind of template for how this works. Josef: feels high from endorphines from cycling, nice and clear headed from not smoking, bit wet and cold, excited about getting some hands on practical experience and hopefully coming up with a model that we can replicate in other under/disused pasture fields; Big agreement from Debora - have Ayesha: friends of Lucy Gillingham, wants to get out of corporate stuff and has a month free at the moment to help in any way we can, comes from an events, lives near Heathrow. Alastair: Had a wobble about the long-term responsiblities of planting trees, but had a great time at Wowo Campstead (East Grinstead) recently who do camping and see lots of potential to does stuff similar. Being made redundant in Feb so may well have lots more time. Really exciting to seeing TV shows about Forest Gardening/ Permaculture. Recently met Rakesh - should go visit some of his projects. Potential teacher of courses. Deborah: raring to get going, overwhelmed about where to start, need to get foundation well thought out, keen to ensure what we plant are productive and useful long-term. Need to find out what grows well here, what people like - this is why keen to visit local orchards for this reason; thinks apples probably the most likely be main focus. Everything excites her about the project - this was built as a model farm and its be great if it could be "model" again. ACTIONS: get in touch with Josh to come tell us about pruning. Visit Mark Organics' orchard. And Lee from Sanford? ACTION: speak to Alice (wowo campsite) about rough camping pitch site. Josef: quick google search found a thread on http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=3&TopicID=137861&PagePosition=1 which says normal pitch is 11m2 because need there to be 6m between tents Monica: been around staying in lots of ecovillages etc, visited agroforestry places that excited her in Brazil etc, and another in Devon. Excited about contributed towards something more local. Worked as a consultant facilitator for last 10 years so could contribute that. What excites her is to see it grow and flourish to provide somethings to visits and also to the poeple involved.
