Notes from visit to Wowo Campsite on Feb 3rd 2011

Josef's notes:
* camp pitches should be 3m from fire and 4m from other group of campers
* ukcampsite.co.uk - the main uk campsite
* shovelstrode garden - forest garden with yurts!
* use Helpex a lot for volunteers - a 2 week trial and then ideally no
less than a month
* Wowo get level 2 stewardship grant
* compost toilets - thunderbox dave were first two
* we need to think about wood supply
- wowo have a log splitter
- deliver it on quad bike in the evening
* jonpy water heater
* have fridges and freezers in lounge common room
* people park cars next to their pitch
* dogs cost £4.5 one off and have to meet people in office and pass
the tummy tickle test
- ask not to bring dangerous breeds, no to alsatians, pitbulls,
rotwielers, bull dogs
- have to be on leads all the time
* go sign mad
* accident report book
* insurance and H&S via NFU
* charge per night
* cars are £5/night
* web booking 100 per cent up front

Deborah's notes:
* Essential to have places where campers can build fires
* All wood should be provided
* Avoid parties esp hens and stags - they need micro-managing
* Wkend camping - min 2 nights, bank holidays - min 3 nights
* Wandering musician and soup for all on Friday nights - much appreciated
